As an Assistant Lecturer in the Epidemiology Division of the Royal Veterinary College I am involved in both teaching and research. At the undergraduate level I teach Biometry, and at the postgraduate level I teach:

  • spatial analysis in epidemiology,
  • data management,
  • effective scientific writing (papers & theses)
  • scientific poster presentations

Presently, my research focuses on bovine tuberculosis (TB) in Great Britain, the spatial analysis of various diseases, and a comparison of knowledge- and data-driven spatial modelling.

Previously, from July 2002 to August 2007 I was employed as a research assistant in the Epidemiology Division of the Royal Veterinary College, before being appointed to my current position.  Between January 1996 and June 2000 I worked as a senior technical assistant at the Equine Research Centre in the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria and for 10 months prior to that (March 1995 - December 1995) as a technical assistant in the Department of Veterinary Physiology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria. Between January 1989 and February 1995 I completed a BSc and MSc in Agriculture (Animal Science) at the University of Natal, South Africa.
