Angel Ortiz-Pelaez

Angel is a part-time research associate in the Epidemiology Division. He joined the Royal Veterinary College in June 2004 and is undertaking a PhD in applying quantitative methods to optimise veterinary surveillance, mainly focused on biosecurity, animal movements and on-farm welfare. He works as a part-time veterinary epidemiologist in the Centre for Epidemiology and Risk Analysis (CERA) of the Veterinary Laboratories Agency on scrapie and other veterinary surveillance projects. His main areas of interest are in disease control programmes, design and implementation of surveillance systems, and statistical analysis of surveillance data.
