Ricardo Soares-Magalhaes

Ricardo is a senior clinical training scholar in veterinary epidemiology. After graduating from the University of Porto vet school in 2002 he enrolled in the MSc of Control of Infectious Diseases postgraduate course at the RVC. He joined the Epidemiology Division in February 2005 after being awarded a scholarship to start a 3-year residency program in veterinary epidemiology, approved by the European College of Veterinary Public Health.

Research Interests

Evolutionary epidemiology of infectious diseases; Modelling of infectious disease dynamics; Epidemiological aspects of animal disease control and surveillance; Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment of animal health and foodborne diseases; Spatial and temporal analysis of epidemiological data.
