Brendan is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Epidemiology Division. He joined the Royal Veterinary College in April 2001. His main research interest is the use of biochemical markers to study bone cell activity in animals, having spent many years working with Professor Joanna Price on research relating to the use of these markers in the thoroughbred racehorse. Currently he is working on a project looking at the use of dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) to measure bone mineral density in the horse, with a particular interest in how this relates to injury and disease.
