Gillian graduated from the veterinary school at the
University of Zimbabwe in 2001. She worked in mixed practice for one year before
moving to the UK. She passed the MRCVS registration examinations in July 2002
and then worked in small animal practice until October 2003. After being awarded
a scholarship to study epidemiology she registered for the MSc in Veterinary
Epidemiology at the RVC graduating in October 2004. She then started her PhD
studying the health and dynamics of the dog population handled by a UK charity
which she completed in February 2008.
She now works as a postdoctoral research assistant in the Epidemiology Division
on canine welfare-related projects. She particularly enjoys spatial and temporal analysis of epidemiological data.
